High Reliability Power Engineering
Epoxycast Coil Transformers for Severe Industrial Environments
At AFP Transformers Corp., our pressure-molded Epoxycast coil transformers engineered in Edison, New Jersey, deliver unmatched advantages over traditional liquid-immersed and standard open-wound dry-type transformers. Designed specifically for high-reliability industrial and utility applications, Epoxycast transformers feature primary windings encapsulated directly under vacuum pressure within high-grade epoxy resin molds. This solid encapsulation eliminates air voids, locks coil windings firmly in place, and shields internal components from aggressive airborne contaminants, moisture, and chemical vapors.
Featuring elevated Basic Impulse Levels (BIL) up to 200kV, AFP Epoxycast transformers withstand severe transient voltage spikes and high power surges without mechanical deformation or electrical breakdown. Because they contain zero flammable liquids or hazardous oils, Epoxycast units do not require expensive fire-suppression vaults, oil containment basins, or environmental compliance monitoring—offering procurement officers and system engineers flexible, lower-cost installation options inside industrial plants, commercial buildings, and outdoor enclosures.
